Born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana, Matthew earned his Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center in 2014. Prior to law school, Matthew attended Louisiana College, where he graduated cum laude and was a 4-year member of the Louisiana College baseball team, earning academic all-conference honors in 2008 and 2009.

Before joining the team at Andrus Boudreaux, Matthew’s legal experience included numerous areas of law. During and after law school, he worked for the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office. In 2016, Matthew moved to Lafayette. From 2016 to 2020, Matthew’s legal practice was centered around courtroom litigation, primarily in the areas of family law, criminal defense, personal injury, and general civil matters.
For the past 2 years, Matthew gained experience in real estate law by opening and managing a Lafayette branch of a statewide title company.

Matthew is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Lafayette Bar Association, Realtors Association of Acadiana, Acadiana Home Builders Association, Acadiana Mortgage Lenders Association, Louisiana Land Title Association, is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, served a two-year term as the President of the Acadia Parish Bar Association, and was the chairperson of the CLE Committee for the Lafayette Bar Association’s annual Bench Bar Conference.

Matthew has been married to his wife Brooke, who is also an attorney, for 4 years. They enjoy traveling, going to sporting events, especially Saints games, and spending time with friends and family. On October 25, 2022, they welcomed their first child, James Henry, into the world.
